A graduate of The Ohio State University, Chuck has championed the concept of two-story retail with clients such as Wal-Mart, sustainable urban rail stations with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA), LEED® facilities for Bridgestone/Firestone retail centers and quality design and technical detailing for the NASA Glenn Research Center.
His understanding of aesthetics, technology and management philosophy has uniquely positioned him to lead

Joseph S. Cardile

Joe leads the Industrial Business as Senior Vice President and General Manager. His responsibilities include managing the company’s efforts in the energy, manufacturing, metals and municipal utility industries. Joe has more than 30 years experience managing large corporations in the architecture and engineering business.

His most recent experience includes Senior Vice President and COO of a major energy technologies company directing energy management services for national commercial and industrial clients. Joe has won several awards for design build projects throughout his engineering career as a member of strategic business development teams.
Joe serves on the boards of Construction Industry Institute (CII) and Construction Users Roundtable (CURT), as well as membership in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICE), Association Energy Engineers (AEE) and International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE).

With more than 34 years of experience, Don is Vice President and Business Regional Manager of the Industrial business. He is responsible for expanding Middough’s national presence for operations in the Midwest Region based in Cleveland, OH and for daily activities associated with strategic business planning, project execution, administration and business development.

Don has significant experience working with some of the largest manufacturers and steel producers in the country including ArcelorMittal, LTV Steel and US Steel.
Carl J. Bergsten, PE

With more than 20 years experience leading and working on projects from design development through operational start-up, Carl has led projects that have ranged in value from $20 million to more than $200 million. As Vice President and Eastern Regional Manager in the Life Science business, Carl has a thorough knowledge of the engineering, business and compliance issues facing today's Life Science clients.

As part of Middough's leadership team, Carl is focused on expanding Middough's national presence in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Food and Beverage and Consumer Products markets and is responsible for daily activities associated with strategic business planning, project execution, administration and business development. James R. Bingham
Life Science
James has more than 30 years of experience in the consulting, engineering, design and construction industries.
As Director of Business Development for Middough's Life Science business, James is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and development of long-term relationships with our clients in the Agribusiness, Food and Beverage and Consumer Products industries.

James also has extensive experience in assisting clients in the site selection process and has considerable management consulting experience in working with Fortune 1000 firms, primarily in the site evaluation process.
He has been published in numerous technical and trade publications, primarily in the fields of economic development and related topics. James maintains key relationships with Cargill, Corn Products Corp., Hershey's, Kikkoman, Kraft, Nestle and Tate & Lyle.
Steven M. Bogaert, PE

Steve is Middough's Central Region vice president and is a registered professional engineer. He has extensive background in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Food industries with more than 20 years of experience leading projects from research and development to design development and commercialization. Steve has a strong background in sterile manufacturing and clean utilities and has significant international experience.

A Senior Vice President and General Manager for Middough Life Science businesses, Ken is responsible for Middough's strategic direction in serving the Food and Beverage, Consumer Products, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology business sectors. Ken has experience directing global projects valued up to $400 million from concept through commissioning.

James R. Field
As Vice President and Regional Business Manager, Jim has a distinguished 35-year career in engineering, financial management and contract negotiations. He is charged with expanding Middough’s national presence in the oil, gas, refining and chemical industries in the Gulf Coast Region.

He is responsible for business overall strategy, new market segments, project execution and managing the existing client base. Jim works closely with other Middough regions to support the company’s national agenda for the Process Business.
Jim has held project and engineering management positions with ARCO International Oil & Gas, Brown & Root, Getty Oil Co., Maverick Engineering and Thronson Engineering, among others. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, received his master’s in engineering from Texas A&M University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Paul Jahn
Paul is a vice president with more than 27 years experience. His diverse functional experience includes P&L management, business development, global relationship management, marketing and sales management, manufacturing, strategic planning and consulting.

Being conversant in process industry technologies and adept at managing the interfaces among technology, operations and commercial organizations, Paul has in-depth knowledge of the technical and commercial challenges of developing and implementing e-commerce and comprehensive project solutions.

Daniel P. Lowry, Jr.
Dan is a vice president with more than 30 years of experience in the refining and chemicals industries. He is manager for the Central Region of our Middough Process Business with responsibility for regional performance including business development, client relationships, contract management, project management and strategic planning.

With an extensive background in retrofit project execution, Dan has designed and or managed more than 2300 multidiscipline projects to date. He has established and managed long term strategic alliance agreements with key clients, one of which that has now entered its 15th year.
Dan’s experience includes work with clients such as BP, Dow, Husky, Linde, Marathon, Sunoco and others, as well as project partnerships with other engineering companies such as Fluor, KBR and Jacobs.
Paul J. Riedl
As Senior Vice President, Paul has more than 40 years experience in the oil and gas, refining and chemicals industries. He is general manager of our Process Business which includes the services provided to our clients in all of the Middough offices coast to coast.
