Electrical Designer - Process Technology
The Electrical Designer creates and establishes simple designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. The Electrical Designer will apply standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects and provide guidance and leadership to drafters to ensure that all established Company and client design standards and practices are followed.
Essential Functions:
- Generates design and detail drawings including orthographics, plans/sections, and isometrics to support Discipline Leads.
- Manages and maintains the Project Documentation (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings).
- Serves as Discipline Lead for select single-discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staffing recommendations, and maintaining quality processes.
- Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in standard drafting techniques
- Proficient in computer functions required to perform 2-D CAD, 3-D CAD, AutoPLANT, and BIM/Revit design
- Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
- 5+ years drafting experience
- Working knowledge of Codes and Standards
- Working knowledge of reference documents and guides
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

- The job may be performed at the Client’s production facility or industrial/construction job site and could last for extended periods of time.
- In some cases, the site working environment may include outside conditions and exposure to high temperatures.
- May require extended overnight travel to another client location/facility or the home office.
- Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
- When working outside Middough’s office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Middough and/or Client, as required.
