Sr. Piping Designer - Process Technology
The Sr. Piping Designer creates and establishes complex designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards. The Sr. Piping Designer applies standard drafting techniques to generate and interpret drawings in support of assigned projects and provides guidance and leadership to drafters and designers to ensure that all established Company design standards and practices are followed.
Essential Functions:
- Generates design and detail drawings and manages and maintains the Project Documentation (e.g., flat files, reference/stick files, CAD drawings).
- Serves as Project Lead for single- and multi-discipline projects by estimating work hours, developing scope of work, making staffing recommendations, and checking drawings.
- Participates in inter-discipline checks.
- Interacts with other departments and suppliers to obtain pertinent information.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 3D required, preferably AutoPLANT and/or Plant 3D proficiency
- Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
- 10+ years design and drafting experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

- The job may be performed at the Client’s production facility or industrial/construction job site and could last for extended periods of time.
- In some cases, the site working environment may include outside conditions and exposure to high temperatures.
- May require extended overnight travel to another client location/facility or the home office.
- Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
- When working outside Middough’s office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by Middough and/or Client, as required.
