Middough provided engineering services and development for Procter & Gamble to provide a ProModel traffic flow simulation. This model was used to optimize existing site traffic flow patterns, as well as the flow between the existing plant and a proposed new distribution center.

The scope included data acquisition to define existing guardhouse, drop lot, road and dock activities, as well as gathering data for the new distribution center in support of model development and simulation experiments. Using data from the simulation, existing site conditions and proposed warehouse designs were evaluated and modified during the preliminary design stage of the project. The simulation model was also used during the final design of the state-of-the-art material handling system for the distribution center.

The Cincinnati Professional Engineering Society (CPES) presented the project team with an Engineering Excellence Award for the work on this project.
